Scale House Operator

Overview

Halifax C&D Recycling, part of the Municipal Group of Companies, is seeking a permanent, full-time Scale House Operator / Yard Labourer to join our operations based out of Dartmouth, NS.

Responsibilities

• Greet all incoming truck drivers at the scale house and ensure they are weighed accurately on the scale when entering and leaving the facility.
• Sort construction and demolition debris and maintain a clean yard and work areas.
• Operate small equipment including skid steers, forklifts, small loaders and brooms.
• Review proper documentation for all deliveries and perform routine data entry into a computer.
• Handle cash, credit and debit transactions as required and assist in maintaining facility site security and access control.
• Close scale house gates at the end of each day and maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure a safe work environment.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and comply with construction site protocols, rules, and code of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
