Position Summary :

The Director of Mortgage Products is a player-coach, instrumental in building and evolution of our Mortgage portfolio at Haventree Bank.

The ideal candidate will possess a background of thought leadership in Mortgage products and product management, with a proven track record of leveraging data-driven insights to identify opportunities for portfolio growth, client and broker engagement and increasing operational efficiency.

This role requires a blend of product expertise, strategic vision and systems knowledge to drive the development and management of our mortgage lending products

Major Duties & Responsibilities :

Product Strategy & Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy for our mortgage lending portfolio
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends and opportunities
  • Ensure alignment of product offerings with the bank's strategic objectives

Product Development and Innovation

  • Oversee the implementation and validation of mortgage lending systems (Loan Origination System, Loan Management System)
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch, including ideation, development, testing, and iteration
  • Leverage technology to create an integrated, seamless, and efficient digital mortgage experience that differentiates our offerings in the market
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and data teams to build innovative mortgage products that enhance user experience and operational efficiency
  • Ensure product compliance with applicable regulations
  • Provide specialist product support to internal teams and external partners

Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyze product performance, profitability, and key performance drivers
  • Develop and manage marketing strategies and product launch plans
  • Report on product performance to senior management and stakeholders
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product success and make data-driven decisions
  • Continuously gather and analyze user feedback to improve product features and user experience.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build and grow a high-performing product team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring; foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team, encouraging the submission of ideas and regular product roadmap review
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers and other relevant staff
  • Provide training on product features and enhancements to relevant stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., compliance, operations, legal, sales, marketing) to ensure successful portfolio growth and product development initiatives
  • Engage with external partners and vendors to integrate cutting-edge technologies and solutions into our mortgage products

Qualifications & Experience

Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications :

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or related field; MBA and / or advanced degree preferred

Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job :

  • Minimum of 8 years in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the mortgage or fintech industry
  • Strong technical understanding of mortgage lending systems and processes
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage products, digital lending solutions, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful financial products
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proficiency in using product management tools and familiarity with mortgage platforms and integrations
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Client-first obsession, dedication and a "get it done" attitude
  • Able to think laterally and find innovative solutions to support strategy.
  • Able to influence and collaborate with partners with diverse points of view and build consensus as well as to establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of partners quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, excellent teammate, self-directed and resourceful, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
