The Opportunity
Working within a sterile compounding laboratory, the successful candidate should be an analytical individual that is comfortable compounding a high volume of products within a state-of-the-art compounding facility.
This organization provides specialty compounded preparations to hospitals, medical clinics and other patient care centres.
They are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual that wants to join a growing team and work alongside other compounders to ensure a high quality output of products.
Candidates should be comfortable working Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 am to 8 pm. Schedules are usually consistent during daytime hours, but some flexibility is required to ensure output demands are achieved.
Position Description
As the successful candidate in this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Using aseptic techniques and adhering to SAPs and NAPRA standards to prepare sterile pharmaceutical compounds
- Record detailed procedures in the sterile clean room. Ensuring compounding processes are documented appropriately
- Clean and sterilize equipment as needed
- Use, clean and maintain all equipment, and monitor and maintain records fro clean room facilities and equipment.
- Conduct air and surface sampling, maintain product inventory, complete inventory counts, check expiry dates, and ensure the sterile clean room is clean and well maintained.
Experience
- Must have 1 + years working as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician through OCP
- Sterile compounding experience and previous pharmacy or related field experience an asset
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with OCP
- Strong analytical and critical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education
- Completion of post-secondary education as a pharmaceutical technician
- Diploma from a CCAPP accredited college and completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
