Position : Software Developer - Back End
Location : Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration : Days Contract + Possible Extension
Job Description :
IBM mainframe tools :
- Experience with z / OS or higher
- Expertise using file and database management tools (either File Aid or higher, or
- Expertise using mainframe IBM Debug Tool or higher
- IBM File Manager or higher)
- Expertise using failure diagnostic tools (either Abend Aid or higher, or IBM Fault
- Analyzer or higher)
- Experience with IBM sort utility (DFSORT)
IBM mainframe DBs, APIs, mainframe source control, mainframe batch :
- Experience with IMS DB V or higher (HALDB and DEDB) using the PLITDLI API.
- Experience with DB for z / OS V or higher
- Experience in Endevor source control tool
- Experience in writing checkpoint restartable IMS BMPs
Client / Server Architecture :
- years of experience writing mainframe PL / I transactions that process XML input and produce XML output and are able to consume
- years experience in designing and developing windows client application interacting with IMS TM applications.
Programming Languages :
- Recent experience in using PL / I or higher within the last years.
- Fujitsu NetCOBOL V or higher
- years experience in programming and analysis.
Screen Handling :
- Experience with mainframe Screen Handling (MFS)
- Experience with windows workstation Screen Handling Software (SCREENIO)
Windows workstation tools :
- Visual Studio or higher
- Visual Studio Debugger
- Harvest Source Control or higher
Connectivity :
Experience scripting for SFTP (preferably in a mainframe environment)
Must Have Skills :
- IBM mainframe DBs, APIs, mainframe source control, mainframe batch (+ years exp)
- Experience with IMS DB V or higher (HALDB and DEDB) using the PLITDLI API.
- Recent experience in using PL / I or higher
- Experience with z / OS or higher (+ years exp)
