We’re seeking a mechanical-focused Capital Planning Consultant to lead mechanical system assessments, reserve fund studies, and capital planning projects for multi-residential, commercial, and community buildings.
KEY RESULT AREAS FOR THIS ROLE
Capital Planning - Mechanical Focus :
- Lead mechanical capital planning initiatives, including preparing Reserve Fund Studies (RFS), Property Condition Assessments (PCA), and Performance Audits (PA).
- Conduct site reviews, assess mechanical systems, and provide component-level condition assessments and repair recommendations.
- Develop cost estimates, repair options, and long-term mechanical system strategies for multi-residential and commercial properties.
- Interpret building drawings, mechanical specifications, and relevant documents such as condominium declarations, by-laws, and legal surveys.
- Apply knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines, property standards by-laws, and condominium law as they relate to mechanical systems.
- Oversee project budgets and schedules while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Review mechanical deliverables to ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Manage contract administration, coordinate client and contractor communications, and resolve mechanical system-related conciliation issues.
- Provide innovative, practical solutions to meet project objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.
Client Management and Development :
Build strong client relationships by providing responsive, professional, and knowledgeable support.Proactively follow up on client requests and drive mechanical capital planning projects to completion.Represent Edison as a trusted mechanical engineering advisor and continuously seek client feedback for improvement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.Experience in consulting with a focus on mechanical building systems, multi-residential or commercial capital planning, reserve fund studies, and building condition assessments.Knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation in existing structures.Familiarity with Ontario Building Code, condo legislation, and mechanical system performance standards.Skills :
