This is an hourly position, working up to 40 hours per week from April 2026 to September 2026. Holiday, evening, and weekend shifts will be periodically required.

Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) located at 55 Pavilion Crescent in Winnipeg is the not-for-profit organization that oversees Assiniboine Park’s operations and ensures its ongoing redevelopment and financial viability. Our team is inspired to create and deliver extraordinary experiences for the people who visit and use the Park and Zoo, including building friendly, supportive, effective relationships with stakeholders, community and the general public.

The Opportunity

We are seeking several Program Instructors who will work closely with Education Coordinators to help deliver impactful and memorable educational programming for a wide range of audiences including children, families, schools, and tourists visiting the Park, Zoo, and Leaf. In addition, they will provide support to the Camp Counsellors in the seamless operation of camps. The Program Instructors will deliver high quality, creative, and entertaining lectures, interactive presentations, workshops, and guided tours to a diverse audience in a broad spectrum of age.

Reporting to the Manager, Education & Programming, Program Instructors will also assist with the development and implementation of new programs, activations, & engagements, providing exceptional experiences for all guests.

Required Education, Training, and Experience

• A high school diploma and / or GED equivalent.
• Post-secondary education in Education, Recreation, Environmental Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or other related field or be working towards a degree.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an instructor, tour guide, program facilitator, or working with youth.
• Prior experience working with a wide variety of ages is considered an asset.
• Experience developing and delivering effective program curriculum and lesson plans, with knowledge of different teaching methods and techniques.
• The ability to speak French is considered an asset.
• Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check mandatory for this position.
• Possession of a valid Manitoba Driver’s License, or the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
