Job Description
Reporting to the Plant Director, the incumbent plays a central role in coordinating production planning activities. He/She works closely with supervisors and managers from the various departments, as well as with the planning team and Human Resources, to ensure smooth operations. He/She plans the production workforce based on schedules and operational needs and actively contributes to initiatives aimed at efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to anticipate future needs, replacements, and unforeseen situations, and maintain planning tools up to date.
- Actively support and advise the Plant Director, managers, and supervisors in workforce planning.
- Participate in daily and planning meetings to respond quickly to operational needs and challenges.
- Ensure staffing levels meet established requirements to effectively support production and sanitation operations.
- Assign employees to various shifts and schedules based on operational needs and workforce availability.
- Manage vacation replacements and absences to ensure continuity of operations.
- Support supervisors in managing vacation schedules and allocating overtime in accordance with established processes.
- Contact staffing agencies to fill temporary labor needs as required.
- Manage transportation requests with our service provider based on work schedules.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of ad hoc employee training sessions.
- Use and optimize available tools to facilitate workforce planning.
- Identify and participate in the implementation of tools to continuously improve workforce management.
- Propose, implement, and monitor management reports and workforce-related performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with current policies and procedures.
- Report any non-compliant situations and handle sensitive data with full confidentiality.
- Perform any other related tasks, as part of a project or request, to support operational needs related to workforce planning.
Main Responsibilities
- College diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or agri-food environment.
- Strong understanding of operational processes within the food industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel (advanced level).
- Demonstrated ability to work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) and functional English; Spanish is a strong asset to communicate with our multicultural workforce.
