The Freight Forwarding Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of the branch within company and any applicable regulatory compliance requirements. They are also accountable to ensure departmental budget performance, customer service and safety in accordance with the Company’s objectives. They must provide leadership, training and supervision to all staff as well as oversee and direct the growth of each department , including but not limited to, meeting and exceeding revenue and profit targets, business development and employee satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities
Ensure the Branch departments are meeting performance KPIs – productivity, quality, budgets, analyze and report on results and forecastsSet reasonable goals that are aligned with the company’s objectives with deadlines for completion and monitor the compliance with these plans and achievement of such deadlinesPrepare monthly reports, forecasts, results, and people resource planning , in line with company expectationsEnsure that all departments have the right tools, information and knowledge in order to work effectively, serve our customers and uphold the company objectives and regulatory complianceBe available to all departments to help resolve conflicting objectivesReinforce continuously respectful communication between all departmentsEnsure customer satisfaction by maintaining quality service at all timesDevelop a working understanding of the company’s clients through telephone calls, meetings and industry events. Ensure that all reasonable client requests are met diligentlyEnsure that the Branch operates according to all Company and legislated requirements, in regard to Employment standards, Health and Safety, Human rights, Quality management and Accounting standards.Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training; planning assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Provide a safe environment for all branch employees and take every necessary precaution or procedure to reduce the risk of accidents occurringResponsible for signing cheque requisitions, transfer slips, purchase orders, etcVarious other tasks as may be required.Qualifications
A minimum of 2-5 years of industry related work experienceDirect working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation managementAdequate knowledge of WHMIS and relevant provincial Health and Safety lawsBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, including Excel and WordExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to speak clearly and confidently in all business settingsStrong customer service and interpersonal communication skillsProven management and leadership abilitiesSound decision making and judgementThe ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reportsMotivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees
