Job OpeningaLocation : Expected Start Date : Full Time : Permanent : Posting End Date : Job Description : Recruitment & Student Experience Coordinator - Administrative Assistant 2 (AESES)Exisiting Budget-Funded Continuing Full-Time 35.00 hours / week Monday to Friday - 8 : 30 am - 4 : 30 pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch breakSalary Range : $28.33 - $39.93 per hour ($51,560.60 - $72,672.60 per annum)Proposed Start Date : August 2, 2024Trial / Probation Period : 840.00 work hours For more information, please contact : Ajibola Akindipe@ : - Develop and implement the overall recruitment, retention, and student experience strategy Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) Plan of the Faculty. - Consult and work in collaboration with departments on individual strategies for recruitment, retention, and student experience.- Obtain data and input from each department on current activities and set goals- Create and maintain student-targeted promotion initiatives within the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and elsewhere on campus. - Design a social media identity and supporting campaign for the recruitment strategy of the Faculty and Schools. - Communicate and develop relationships with prospective students, families, schools, counsellors and other key influencers. - Utilize modern and effective communication technologies and strategies to reach prospective students. - Monitor current University enrolment changes, assess patterns impacting student recruitment. - Develop and oversee target country marketing campaigns to reach and attract quality international students, working with Program Chairs to identify target enrolment numbers- Work with Student Services to set up systems for gathering, monitoring and integrating prospective student, applicant and current student data into annual student service processes- Coordinate the Student Ambassador Program including applying annually for support through the Endowment Fund, hiring student ambassadors, and overseeing their activities. - Update website and align marketing and promotional resources to support student recruitment strategies and efforts. - Ensure media identity, recruitment strategies and communication technologies are aligned with University and Faculty policies / practices and support the external face / presence of the University and Faculty. - Regularly meet with Admissions on joint recruitment / marketing efforts, development, and implementation of the student recruitment plan of the Faculty. - Engage with prospective students, their advisors, educators, producers, government and industry stakeholders and the public to raise the profile of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. - Liaise with the Faculty Awards Coordinator, the Associate Dean (Academic) and other Deans Office staff on the specific entrance awards of the Faculty, and assist with advertising as necessary. - Work in collaboration with academics to establish and evaluate course-based student support groups.- Support student clubs leaders on individual and group basis to ensure succession of student clubs.- Oversee student retention and experience initiatives such as faculty community events, study sessions, Leadership Forum event, industry speakers, annual student surveys and student club promotion events.- Develop marketing campaigns that increase awareness of current students about student supports both internally (offered by Faculty) and externally (offered by offices outside of the Faculty).- Work in collaboration with Experiential Learning Coordinator to coordinate experiential learning placements for high school students and work-integrated (course-based) placements for FAFS : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING : - Undergraduate degree in agricultural science or a closely related discipline is required. - A Professional Agrologist or demonstrated knowledge of the profession of agrology would be a definite asset, as would any other professional designation in the agricultural, food, or human nutritional sciences. EXPERIENCE : - A minimum of two years of related experience is required. - Demonstrated competence in recruiting students and experience developing promotional strategies and managing projects required. - Extensive experience, familiarity with and knowledge of the agricultural and food industries required - Experience with supervising staff is preferred. - Experience with web design is preferred. - Experience with social media tools and designing social media campaigns is required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : - Knowledge of agricultural and food sciences undergraduate degree and diploma programs and curriculum is required. - Excellent communication (written, oral and public speaking) skills required.- Superior interpersonal skills required.- Critical thinking skills required.- Time management and organizational skills are required. - Proficiency in data management is required. - Proficiency in computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, Powerpoint / presentation software, web development) is required. - Must be highly energetic and motivated. - Creative marketing and professional presentational skills are required. - Ability to liaise with industry, government agencies, students, the University community and schools on matters related to student recruitment, cooperative education and job placement is required. - Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and adhere to tight deadlines is required. - Ability to supervise and coordinate student activities and events are essential. - Ability to travel in rural Manitoba, occasionally work evenings / weekends and / or extended hours and some overnight travel will be required. - A mature and professional work ethic and the ability to work both independently as a team player is required. - Valid drivers license is required. - Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is Information : The University of Manitoba is committed to the principles of equity, diversity & inclusion and to promoting opportunities in hiring, promotion and tenure (where applicable) for systemically marginalized groups who have been excluded from full participation at the University and the larger community including Indigenous Peoples, women, racialized persons, persons with disabilities and those who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, intersex, asexual and other diverse sexual identities).
