Job Title: Dock Worker

Job Description

As a Dock Worker, you will be responsible for unloading and loading trailers and containers efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role requires accurate documentation of all paperwork, noting any damages, overages, or shortages, and the ability to lift 50-60 lbs. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load outbound trailers while keeping track of every skid using a preplan manifest, ensuring everything is 100% accurate.
• Utilize every inch of the trailer by stacking freight using load tables, load bars, and other materials, securing loads for transit with straps and plywood.
• Offload city pickups by matching the offload manifest and placing freight in designated lanes based on destination.
• Load preloads for night runs or interline carriers using the PL manifest, ensuring easy offloading for customers.
• Offload inbound trailers by matching the offload manifest, staging freight accordingly, and stickering with CA labels.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of sitdown forklift experience.
• In-house or third-party forklift certification.
• Good reading and writing skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse, which is transit accessible. The warehouse serves various clients and handles seasonal merchandise. The team is small, consisting of 2-4 people plus office staff, and the culture is relaxed with flexibility for time off. Steel-toed shoes are required. The shift time is 14:00 - 22:30 from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime and a rotating weekend shift every third Sunday. Training will be provided for two weeks on the afternoon shift.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
