The Ministry of Municipal Affairs assists municipalities in providing well‑managed, collaborative, and accountable local government to Albertans.
Responsibilities
Support branch‑wide issue management and integration by coordinating information sharing, collaboration, and decision making across branch units and with internal and external stakeholders.Identify and track emerging issues by facilitating discussions with administrators and consolidating materials for Branch Management Team awareness and action.Build and maintain effective working relationships to support policy collaboration, operational planning integration, and alignment with Branch and Division priorities.Coordinate the collection, synthesis, and preparation of integrated responses for Action Requests, briefings, and policy or legislative materials.Support policy and regulatory planning by tracking the status and forward planning of key initiatives, including legislation, regulations, and codes.Coordinate regulatory review and amendment processes and assist in the development of Ministerial Orders, Cabinet submissions, and other government materials.Participate in strategic, multi‑stakeholder projects by supporting research, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and delivery of assigned outputs.Assist in the analysis and development of policy options and recommendations for senior management consideration.Competencies

Requirements : University graduation in a related field; no experience required.
Equivalencies : Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of :
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.Assets :
Knowledge of the core business of the Community and Technical Services division, government, and departmental priorities and initiatives.Aware of Alberta’s Safety Codes System.Strong written and communication skills.Understanding of legislative drafting principles.Strong political awareness and sensitivity.Strategic perspective.Employment and Location
Term of Employment : Permanent full‑time position.
Hours of Work : 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location : Edmonton.
