Description :
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites.
You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results.
Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications :
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Demonstrate proficiency in core laboratory theory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen procurement and handling, and transfusion medicine dispense by applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.
Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Proven ability to work within a computer based environment.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients / clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast pace changing environment.
Ability to work independently when necessary.Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skillsAbility to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace.

Epic Connect Care training.Experience working alone as a CLXT simultaneously in laboratory and diagnostic imaging within a rural facility is preferred.
Experience working in an on-call rotation is an asset.
