Purpose :
The candidate will lead small to medium projects for the Instrumentation & Control discipline and interface well with the customer and coordinate with the rest of the project team.
Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner.
Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the client, or to agreed industry standards.
Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.
Responsibilities :
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in control system engineering, design, implementation, programming, configuration, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting in support of Control Systems for O&G operations (upstream, midstream or downstream; onshore and offshore), Chemical Facilities, Manufacturing Facilities, etc. along with all associated control system devices, computers, communications, networks, endpoint devices, and instrumentation. (ICS . : Distributed Control Systems "DCS", Programmable Logic Controller systems "PLC", and SCADA).
- Provide technical expertise in consultation, evaluation, recommendation, and development or review of specifications, work scopes, bid proposals, test procedures, alarm response procedures, commissioning plans, and vendor reports.
- Provide hands on control system Support, including digital devices or systems with communications interface to control systems (. inverters, drives, and protection relays for electrical power systems).
- Manage / Lead projects and perform multiple responsibilities of controls engineering support in parallel and oversee vendor / contractor support when needed.
- Provide support and leadership to meet ICS Cyber Security requirements as well as other regulatory compliance requirements, projects, initiatives, and activities relative to industrial controls and control systems.
- Perform evaluation of control system and instrumentation specifications for projects and new plant construction.
- Control Systems may include (but not limited to the following vendors) : Honeywell, Schneider, Emerson, GE, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, Wonderware.
