Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payments to join our dynamic product team. This role plays a critical part in delivering modern, reliable, and member-centric payment solutions. You’ll own the strategy and execution for key payments capabilities, balancing member needs, regulatory requirements, risk, and operational excellence.

This is a full-time, permanent role at our head office based in Vancouver. For someone with the right skillset and experience, we are also open to candidates based in Ontario. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Own and drive the payments product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and member needs.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for payment solutions—from discovery and business case development through delivery, launch, and continuous optimization.
  • Partner closely with technology, operations, risk, compliance, and marketing to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant payment experiences.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies across the Canadian payments ecosystem to inform product decisions.
  • Use data, insights, and member feedback to prioritize enhancements, measure outcomes, and continuously improve performance.
  • Develop clear product requirements, business cases, and success metrics, and influence senior stakeholders to gain alignment and support.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for payments products, representing product interests in cross-functional forums and initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery remains on track with agreed timelines, scope, and budgets, proactively addressing risks and dependencies.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 7–10 years of product management experience, with significant exposure to payments or money movement.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian payments landscape, including Interac e-Transfer, payments modernization, Real-Time Rail, and open banking.
  • Experience navigating fintech and payments capabilities within Canadian regulatory and infrastructure constraints.
  • Expertise in digital money movement, including e-commerce payments, prepaid programs, and card-based solutions.
  • A proven track record of taking complex products from concept through delivery and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of payment systems, enabling technologies, and regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working in agile, fast-paced environments.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile methodologies.

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Strategic Thinker: Able to see the big picture and develop long-term plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborative Leader: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships.
  • Data-Driven: Comfortable using data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive product improvements.
  • Customer-Focused: Dedicated to understanding and meeting the needs of our customers.
  • Innovative: Always looking for new ways to enhance our payment solutions and stay ahead of the competition.

What You’ll Earn:

The salary band of this role is $102,900 - $ 130,000. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements

Vancity Talent Programs:

With special permission from the BC Human Rights Commissioner, this initiative provides access to career development opportunities, prioritized job screening, and feedback. Any information you choose to share will be stored securely and used only for recruitment and career development connected to this initiative, in line with the BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
