Administrative Support III – Access and Disclosure Analyst
Alberta Health Services – Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre (location details as per posting). FTE : 0.60, Shift pattern : Days, Hours per shift : 7.75. Minimum salary $23.53 – $28.60 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential support to facilitate the secure, accurate, and compliant release of health information in accordance with the Health Information Act (HIA).
- Act as a key liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and third parties, collecting and validating documentation to ensure requests are processed accurately and completely.
- Support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within the Department of Health Information Management, Access and Disclosure.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service and communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and function independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
Required Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Successfully completed a Medical Office Assistant, Hospital Unit Clerk, or Health Informatics Office Assistant certificate program and hold a Medical Terminology Certificate.Minimum 1 year of recent experience in healthcare documentation or release of information within a complex healthcare environment or provincial health system.Minimum 1 year working in a Clinical Information System (CIS) or electronic medical record (EMR) application.Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology across all acute care specialties, demonstrated by scoring at least 80% on a proficiency assessment.Fundamental understanding of health information privacy, access, and disclosure practices.Strong English language skills (reading, writing, comprehension, oral communication).Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Customer‑focused approach and strong interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications
Additional training related to the Health Information Act, access and disclosure, or privacy / confidentiality.Experience working with hybrid or electronic health records.Health Information Certified Associate (HICA) certification from the Canadian College of Health Information Management.Posting Details
