The Supply Management group develops and implements strategies, corporate standards, and programs in the areas of materials and inventory management, strategic sourcing, and spend analysis across Teck.

After a strategic evaluation of supply management opportunities at the company, leadership has decided to recruit a leader who will coordinate and partner with supply chain stakeholders to be a single point of accountability around supply chain governance and decision-making, and act as a change agent to transform Teck’s supply and strategic sourcing program.

Reporting to the SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Supply Management and Strategic Sourcing is responsible for aligning supply management strategy, governance, and execution across the organization.

This includes overseeing the company’s supply management function to strengthen ROI, lower costs, strengthen the security of supply, increase transparency and certainty of future costs, and support improved operational performance through close partnerships with leadership teams.

The Head of Supply Management & Strategic Sourcing will need to think strategically and have an enterprise view of the function while possessing strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and lead sustainable change across all sites.

Driving efficiency, productivity, and profitability is key to success.

The ideal candidate brings extensive related experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility in the mining / extractor industry or another heavy industry with relevant experience and expertise in strategic sourcing and supply management.

The successful candidate will be a senior-level subject matter expert and performance leader for all aspects of the company’s procurement value chain.

A skilled communicator and effective relationship builder, the ideal candidate will bring strong personal and professional leadership and the ability to engage stakeholders externally and across all levels of the organization.

This role is based in Vancouver, Canada.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $230,000-$260,000 per year plus 30% bonus.
