Java Technical Expert / Lead

THIS ROLE IS BASED IN VANCOUVER BC AND IS NOT OPEN TO REMOTE OPTIONS.

We are looking for a Java Technical Expert who will act as a trusted advisor to the client. This is not a project management or team‑lead role; instead, the focus is on technical leadership, client guidance, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Deep Technical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of Java, related frameworks, and best practices.
• Client Leadership – Able to understand client needs, guide solution design, and influence technical direction.
• Hands‑On Contribution – Strong coding, debugging, and optimization skills, with the ability to solve complex technical issues directly.
• Coaching & Mentoring – Supports and develops other team members by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, designs, and fostering best practices.
• Collaboration – Works closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams to ensure alignment and technical excellence.
• Advisory Role – Helps the client make informed decisions on architecture, tools, and implementation approaches.

Required Qualifications

✓ CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $65,000 - $130,000 .
