Job Description
We are currently looking for a pilot instructor to perform advanced mountain training, aircraft type and emergency training, vertical reference / water bucket training, basic and advanced NVG training and night rating.
Here are the detailed responsibilities of the role:
- Provide high-quality flight instruction to military and civilian students, ensuring safety, proficiency, and adherence to Transport Canada/FAA regulations.
- Conduct both ground and in-flight training sessions for students at various experience levels.
- Create and execute customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and progress.
- Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Ensure proper maintenance of aircraft by conducting pre- and post-flight inspections and reporting any issues.
- Maintain accurate and thorough student records, including flight logs and performance evaluations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, aviation standards, and changes in regulations.
- Foster a professional and encouraging learning environment that promotes safety and confidence.
- Conduct check rides, practical exams, and assist students in preparing for certification or course completion.
- Coordinate with flight school staff to schedule lessons, aircraft, and other resources efficiently.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and skills:
- + hrs with an extensive operational background
- hrs minimum mountain experience
- Type ratings on Bell ,AS – H, EC
- Longline Proficient
- Instructional background, teach both in the classroom and the aircraft - an asset
- Working in a team-oriented environment
- Self starter / takes initiative
- Word/Excel/PDF/ PowerPoint – Proficient
- Can work night shifts (NVG training or on contract)
- English and Spanish speaking
