Job description

Our client is seeking as Senior Enterprise Data Architect to develop Enterprise Data Roadmaps to address technical debt, policies, processes & strategies in the Oil & Gas Sector. (Req : )

Calgary candidate for 1 year contract, 4 days per week in downtown Calgary

Must Have :

2+ years Enterprise Architecture experience with a focus on data & information
7+ years as a Data Architect or Solution Architect (Data)
Technical Debt reduction experience
Experience developing architecture Roadmaps, strategies & policies
TOGA, ITAC, ITIL, DAMA, CDMP or other relevant certifications

Nice to Have :

Oil & Gas Experience

Responsibilities :

Report to Senior Manager Enterprise Architecture, create Enterprise IT Roadmaps addressing technical debt and generate value while focusing on cost containment.

Provide expert technical leadership in developing the strategic direction for Data & IT architecture, standards, principles. Develop decision records supporting architectural changes, technology selection process, and new application requests.

Contributing to the definition, implementation and governance of enterprise Data & IT and architecture plans, policies, and standards to guide the development, integration, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure, software applications and solutions.

Reviewing initiative and project documentation (e.g. Solution Designs) throughout their lifecycle to report on their status to the Enterprise Architecture team and ensure compliance

Providing advice regarding technology risk assessments, total cost of ownership (TCO), problem resolution and project issues.

Developing data management standards and practices, especially those effective in ensuring data quality and data integrity across the corporation as part of the identification and definition of cross-enterprise data entities.

Supporting the business and projects with integration architectures, including application (ESB, SOA, EAI, BPM), data (ETL / ELT / CDC) and event-based (EDA) methods.

Providing guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects and initiatives are in alignment with the corporate data architecture and the evolution of key enterprise data / information management platforms supporting analytics (Data Warehouse / Lakes), content management (ECM) and geospatial analysis (GIS).
