Join the Securitization Operations Team, where you will support CMHC's securitization guarantee activities by undertaking National Housing Act Mortgage-Backed Securities (NHA MBS) pricing and analysis of pools submitted for sale to Canada Housing Trust (CHT) as part of the Canada Mortgage Bond (CMB) program.

In this role, you will assist with funding allocations and various activities related to each CMB transaction and assist with the assessment and allocation of NHA MBS guarantee limits.

You will also contribute to the design, development, analysis and reporting on performance and risk measures related to CMHC's securitization programs.

What you'll do :

  • Compute and report on securities guaranteed / guarantees in force and other securitization performance measures for quarterly and annual financial statements, five-year corporate planning purposes and corporate stress testing scenarios.
  • Review NHA MBS Issuer allocation requests and conduct quarterly NHA MBS guarantee allocations and reallocations when applicable.
  • Contribute to the execution of CMB program operations by ensuring timeliness, accuracy and completeness (sales offers and closing schedule, etc.

allocating CMB funding and providing related data files to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Verify the eligibility of each National Housing Act (NHA) Mortgage-Back Securities (MBS) pool offered for sale to CHT and, where applicable, calculate and / or revise the price of mortgage-backed securities offered for sale based on the requirements of the CMB program and make recommendations regarding acceptability.
  • Support projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the NHA MBS pricing and valuation.
  • Monitor the compliance of securitization guarantee activities with CMB program requirements, and control CMHC's risk tolerance levels.
  • Ensure fulfillment of CMHC's financial services advisor responsibilities related to the CMB program (e.g., verification of costs / payment direction, timely review of all permitted investments, verification and approval of collateral returns / substitutions, monitoring of CMB maturities, etc.

and ensure functions of the Trust Administrator for CHT are performed accurately and in accordance with program policies.

Provide recommendations / solutions to deal with complex issues related to CMHC securitization programs.

What you should have :

  • An undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics or another related field.
  • A minimum seven (7) years of prior relevant experience in securitization and / or capital markets.
  • An advanced knowledge of mortgage-backed securities / asset-backed securities (MBS / ABS), fixed income security pricing / trading and the conceptual and transactional elements of securitization funding models.
  • A broad-ranging knowledge of capital markets instruments, securitization markets, regulatory issues, accounting and disclosure standards, and trends in funding and risk management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to model and assess financial risks.
  • A knowledge of techniques for the measurement and understanding of financial and operational risks, as well as performance.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a sophisticated technological environment, using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, Power BI, Bloomberg, etc.

It would be great if you also had :

A post-graduate degree(s) in business, finance, economics or another related field, and / or professional designations attesting specialty in the areas of finance and risk management would be considered assets (e.

g., Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager).
