What is the opportunity?

Alternative Investment Services provides Derivative Services for all Investor Services Clients who participate in these products.  Services include the valuation of all OTC and Exchange Traded Derivative Products, Full Security Master Creation and Modeling, Term Loan administration, as well as Trade Processing, Margin, & Collateral management and other settlement activities.

As the Derivative Reconciliation Analyst in the Alternatives Investment team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the accounting of all transactions and assisting with the daily, monthly and annual administration of derivatives and term Loans, as well as highly complex portfolios that deal in hedge and mutual funds. You will also be responsible for helping out with the juniors on an ongoing basis. This role requires frequent collaboration with other internal operations and investment teams and external service providers (e.g., fund accounting, agents, and auditors).

What will you do?

  • Oversee day-to-day processing
  • Perform daily reconciliation of a variety of Derivatives products including Forwards, Futures,  Options, Swaps and Structured Products
  • Escalate breaks to the appropriate parties as per procedure
  • Assess Net Asset Value and Market Value calculations for Derivative products being reconciled
  • Monitor and maintain group inbox for internal and external queries
  • Verify terms and details of Derivatives products including Forwards, Futures, Options and Swaps
  • Generate derivative reports for the Fund Accounting and Custody Reporting groups
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 1 year Derivatives experience including experience with year-end processes, audit, transitions and mergers.
  • Strong understanding of how to calculate MTM for all open positions for Derivative products
  • Understanding the performance of a portfolio and ability to decompose the P&L
  • Strong collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
  • Data driven reporting
  • Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle
  • Nice-to-have

  • Securities experience
  • Enrolment in CAIA / CGA / CMA / CFA or other recognized accredited program is desirable
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
