THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to join our multifamily construction team. This role is located on site and reports to the Principal. The Assistant Site Superintendent will perform a variety of duties including but not limited to :

Collaborating closely with the Site Superintendent, Construction / Project Manager and the project team to assist in overseeing on-site operations advising the Site Superintendent or Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, scheduling difficulties, etc. General responsibilities include fostering clear communication among senior executives, Project Managers, development team, on-site trades, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain a cohesive and productive work environment.

Supporting the maintenance of project schedules, promptly addressing adjustments or changes during the construction process. Liaising between field engineers and estimators and ensuring construction complies with drawings and specifications.

Monitoring and executing the project construction plan and schedule. Reviewing and understanding the contract and subcontracts, including undertaking risk and risk mitigation plans. Supervising, developing and mentoring workers.

Contributing to a culture of professional project delivery by establishing behavioural guidelines, best practices, and a system of accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Education

Demonstrated progressive experience in general contracting as a superintendent in multifamily or commercial construction.

Trade background in carpentry and / or Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset.

Knowledge of local concrete or woodframe construction structures on multifamily projects over 50 units.

Minimum one project completed as Assistant Site Superintendent.

Experience managing subtrades.

Demonstrates solid judgement regarding sensitive information

Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Familiarity with MS Project and SiteMax is an asset

COMPENSATION RANGE

$85,000 - $115,000 per year
