Manager, Omnichannel Media Planning - Hybrid - Mississauga
Open Vacancy: This role is a current, active position and we are accepting applications.
Our client is an independently owned omnichannel marketing agency focused on driving shopper conversion and sales lift through insight-led and data-driven marketing. Our clients are based in Canada and the U.S.
Our client is seeking an experienced Media Planner who combines strategic thinking, analytical rigour and confident client communication with hands-on delivery discipline. You will strengthen their planning and media team, support a major beverage account and lead the day-to-day media work for other assigned clients.
This is an individual-contributor Manager role with significant client, partner and campaign leadership responsibilities. The role may provide functional direction and coaching to execution specialists.
Responsibilities
- Account Leadership: Drive day-to-day media strategy, brief responses, channel allocation, presentations, partner management, and reporting for assigned clients.
- Major Account Support: Collaborate under team leadership to build media plans, evaluate vendor proposals, coordinate activations, and monitor performance across overlapping quarterly programs.
- Targeted DSP Oversight: Own strategy, planning, and partner management for assigned DSP campaigns. Direct external managed-service partners and eventually guide internal execution specialists. Note that DSP is a minor component of the overall omnichannel planning remit rather than the primary focus.
- Omnichannel Channel Management: Connect paid social, search, programmatic, retail media networks, online video, and other key channels with pre-shop, retail, and food service customer journeys.
- Campaign Delivery: Manage media workbacks, asset specs, trafficking handoffs, tracking briefs, launch-readiness checklists, and campaign performance monitoring.
- Commercial and Budget Control: Maintain planned versus actual spend, reconcile partner invoices, flag scope changes early, and assist with accurate project scoping.
- AI Integration: Actively leverage AI tools for data analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant media and shopper-channel planning experience with manager-level ownership.
Strong agency background with experience in structured environments and agility to thrive in growing teams.
Deep understanding of Canadian retail media, shopper channels, grocery, convenience, liquor, and food service ecosystems.
Proven DSP strategy and managed-service oversight experience without requiring daily hands-on trading.
Strong digital planning capabilities across paid social, search, programmatic, and retail media platforms.
Analytical mindset with strong budget management, invoice reconciliation, and vendor negotiation skills.
Practical comfort using AI tools to optimize data workflows and communications.
Confidence holding team members and external partners accountable to high standards and project deadlines.
Ability to travel within North America for occasional client meetings or industry conferences.
