Job description

We are a premier, fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider committed to delivering multi-modal transportation solutions across North America. Driven by precision, speed, and exceptional customer service, we manage mission-critical ground, intermodal, air, and ocean freight for some of the continent's most reputable brands. Our organization is defined by an energetic, collaborative workplace culture where team members are supported with hands-on training, cutting-edge technology, and clear pathways for long-term career advancement.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Logistics Operations Specialist to join our core brokerage operations team. In this role, you will act as the operational backbone of our freight division, coordinating shipments, securing carrier capacity, and ensuring freight moves smoothly from origin to destination. No prior logistics experience is required; we offer comprehensive, hands-on training to teach you the fundamentals of transportation management, carrier negotiation, and modern supply chain execution.

Responsibilities

  • Match customer freight orders with qualified, reliable carrier capacity across multiple modes (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, and Intermodal).
  • Negotiate competitive spot rates with motor carriers to ensure service reliability and healthy profit margins.
  • Track and trace active shipments in real time, proactively communicating status updates, ETA changes, and delivery confirmations to clients and internal teams.
  • Resolve transit issues, route exceptions, delays, and scheduling conflicts swiftly and professionally.
  • Collect, verify, and process operational documentation, including rate confirmations, bills of lading (BOL), and delivery receipts.
  • Cultivate and expand strong relationships with regional and national carrier networks to secure recurring capacity.
  • Maintain complete and accurate data records within the internal Transportation Management System (TMS).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree or college diploma is an asset.
  • No prior logistics or brokerage experience required; full end-to-end training is provided.
  • Previous experience in freight brokerage, dispatch, customer service, or retail/hospitality is considered a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a confident telephone presence.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Proficiency with computers, web platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative, high-energy, on-site office setting.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $55,000 per year
  • Work arrangement: Full-time, in-office
  • Paid time off: 2 weeks (10 business days) of paid vacation annually
  • Remote flexibility: 5 work-from-home (WFH) days per year
  • Benefits: Company-provided benefits package
