Casual / Part-time - School HostRed Deer Catholic Regional SchoolsVarious Schools across Red Deer, ABRed Deer Catholic Regional Schools is seeking reliable, welcoming School Hosts to support after-hours facility rentals across our school community. Under the direction of the Supervisor of System Services and School Administration, the School Host plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, secure, and positive environment for community groups using our facilities. Shifts occur primarily during weekday evenings and weekends based on rental schedules. We are looking for trustworthy, punctual, and organized team members who take pride in representing our division. The ideal candidate takes initiative, ensures facility rules are respected, handles minor rule enforcement with tact, and maintains strong communication with user groups, booking staff, and school administration. Key Responsibilities:Facility Access & Security: Manage building keys securely, arriving 15 minutes prior to rental start times to open facilities, turn on lights, and unlock entry doors. Ensure entry doors remain secure/monitored during events and that all doors are locked and lights off at the conclusion of rentals.On-Site Presence: Remain on-site for the full duration of rentals as the primary point of contact. Answer basic inquiries, continuously monitor entryways, and ensure facility policies (e.g., removal of outdoor footwear) are followed.Group Monitoring & Support: Monitor user groups to ensure appropriate conduct, restrict access strictly to booked areas, ensure groups tidy their spaces prior to departure, and check for damage after groups exit.Safety & Emergency Readiness: Act as the primary on-site contact during emergencies, following division safety protocols and reporting any incidents or damage promptly.Orientation: Complete site walkthroughs and orientations at assigned schools prior to your first shift to familiarize yourself with facility layouts and site-specific protocols.Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete and submit monthly timesheets to the facility booking clerk in accordance with payroll schedules.Requirements and Qualifications:Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable personal vehicle for travel to assigned schools across Red Deer.Flexible availability for weekday evenings and weekends.Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict de-escalation skills.Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.Physical ability to stand, walk, and inspect facilities for extended periods.Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required prior to commencement of employment.
