Overview
The primary role of the Sealer / Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking, sanding and other applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting.
Mix, blend, and match paint colors.
Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns.
Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.
Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Completion of college / vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.
Previous experience working with sheet metal is an asset.
Previous autobody prep experience is an asset.
Ability to work independently.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
Must be able to carry and move equipment and / or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.
Must be able to distinguish colours.
Working Conditions
Commercial / Industrial environment.
Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.
Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
Long periods of standing.
Overtime as required.
