Job Description The Laborer / Operator's job is to obtain directives from the Shift Supervisor and safely and proficiently operate various types of equipment and perform general labor as needed. Responsibilities cover the entire plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate under direction of plant supervision
• Obtain directives from Shift Supervisor; safely and proficiently operate various types of equipment (including shifting gears); perform general labor; experience with running loaders, dozers, trucks, backhoes
• Assist with non-mechanical duties such as screen installation
• Follow lockout procedures
• Obtain, use and maintain PPE
• Obtain, use and maintain assigned tool kit
• Ensure work area is safe and free of debris
• Ensure guards are in place in the immediate work area
• Work as per supervisor’s instructions
• Assist plant personnel when needed (e.g., short-staffed on production)
• Ensure all tools used are properly put away
• Report any dust emissions as well as all fluid spills or leaks
• Know, understand and follow Plant Lockout procedures
• Immediately report any unsafe conditions, practices, accidents, injuries, near misses or concerns
