Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist – 5 Axis

Compensation: $25-33/hr

Location: York Region GTA: Advanced Manufacturing / Automotive OEM Supply

Our client, a cutting-edge OEM supplier, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist – 5 Axis to join their high-performance team in York Region. This role is ideal for a precision-driven professional with expertise in 5-axis machining, who thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC machines to produce complex components to tight tolerances

• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to ensure accurate machining

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes and tooling

• Conduct in-process inspections and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy

• Troubleshoot machining issues and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company standards

• Support prototype development and low-volume production for new product launches

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred

• 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a strong focus on 5-axis operations

• Proficiency with G-code programming and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)

• Experience working with exotic materials and tight-tolerance parts (e.g., aerospace or automotive components)

• Strong understanding of GD&T, metrology tools, and quality control procedures

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
