:
Il s’agit d’un travail clinique qui comporte l’évaluation, la détection, l’interprétation, l’éducation, la réadaptation et la prévention des dysfonctions ou de la douleur physiques. Le travail effectué est axé sur les besoins de la clientèle et peut nécessiter la participation active aux équipes interdisciplinaires, la consultation au sujet des listes d’attente de la clientèle, la détermination des options en matière de prestation de services, l’évaluation continue, et de déterminer si les patients sont prêts à quitter l’hôpital. Il peut se faire en établissement ou en milieu communautaire. Le travail comprend la participation à la planification et à la mise en œuvre des activités du service ou de programme, et peut inclure les activités d'amélioration de la qualité, de gestion du rendement et d’élaboration de statistiques, la formation des stagiaires et la recherche, ainsi que la gestion de la charge de travail et la coordination des soins.
