Journeyperson Truck & Trailer Mechanic

Position Overview :

The City of Saint John is currently seeking a Journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic. This position carries out the duties associated with the operations of the mechanical garage and satellite facilities to provide for the maintenance and administration of City owned vehicles and equipment.

Working conditions may include night shifts, shift work and / or overtime including evenings, weekends and / or statutory holidays as required to respond to seasonal requirements and unforeseen circumstances. Work requires a high level of attention and mental sensory coordination with some physical effort and frequent exposure to heat, cold, fumes, dirt, oil, chemicals, welding, cutting and gouging equipment.

Essential Qualifications :

The successful candidate will be a licensed Journeyperson Mechanic holding a Truck & Transport Journeyperson License.
