The Company

Our client is an established and very successful organization. Due to growth into an exciting new sector, our client is looking to hire a Plant Controller for its Hamilton area location.

The Role

The Plant Controller reports to the Corporate Controller and SVP who are both located at Head Office. The Plant Controller is responsible for all aspects of Finance for the Hamilton plant. You will manage 3 direct reports and take overall responsibility for the month end close, journal entries, costing, inventory management, billing and A / R, purchasing and A / P. You will also be responsible for leading the implementation of the new ERP system at site. You will prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting and be part of the site leadership team.

What do you bring to the role?

• You have a strong accounting background with 5+ years of cost and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• You possess strong computer skills, specifically relating to Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
• CPA designation
• Familiarity with steel fabrication and construction also an asset
