The Position
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, attracting, and securing top‑tier technical and professional talent while maintaining strong relationships with candidates throughout the hiring process. This role focuses on ensuring high‑quality hires and building a robust talent pipeline that aligns with company needs and strategic objectives. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will leverage data‑driven recruitment strategies, collaborate closely with hiring managers, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding.
Responsibilities
Technical and Professional Recruiting
- Source, engage, and recruit candidates for technical and professional roles, leveraging various platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, industry networks) and innovative sourcing strategies.
- Conduct interviews and assessments to evaluate technical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and understand role requirements.
- Utilize data‑driven recruitment strategies to identify and attract top industry professionals.
- Manage all candidate records and recruitment steps within the company’s HRIS / recruitment system (e.g., Dayforce).
Candidate Quality and Screening
Ensure a high standard of talent selection by evaluating both technical proficiency and soft skills.Implement structured interview processes to assess candidates objectively and consistently.Manage pre‑employment evaluations and coordinate with technical teams for candidate assessments.Provide insights on market trends, salary expectations, and competitive hiring practices.Track recruitment activity and provide regular updates on open roles and candidate progress.Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive experience throughout the hiring process.Develop talent pipelines by networking within technical communities and industry events.Own candidate relationship management throughout the recruitment lifecycle.Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and People & Development team members.Partner with the Director, People & Development and hiring managers on job qualification / intake meetings.Process Improvement and Reporting
Proactively identify and engage top talent through various sourcing channels.Provide reporting and KPI tracking for recruitment activity, open roles, and candidate progress.Advise on compliance, legislative changes, and best practices in recruitment.Support additional HR projects as needed.Requirements
3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, technical recruiting, or resourcing management, preferably within IT or technology sectors.Proven ability to source, engage, and recruit candidates for technical and professional roles.Strong understanding of structured interview processes and candidate assessment methodologies.Experience with HRIS / recruitment systems (e.g., Dayforce) and candidate management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with candidates and stakeholders.Knowledge of market trends, salary benchmarks, and competitive hiring practices.Ability to manage multiple recruitment cycles and prioritize effectively.Familiarity with employment laws and compliance across Canadian provinces is an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and recruitment platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed).Competencies
