IT Technical Business Analyst Intermediate

Location : Edmonton, Alberta (Primarily Remote)

Duration : 205 Business Days Plus 6 Months of possible extension

Project Name : Certified Software List (CSL v2) / End User Computing (EUC)

Project Overview :

The role supports the development and implementation of governance and issue resolution processes for Software Asset Management and the creation of a new Certified Software List for End User Workstations. Anticipated results include :

Improved packaging software / certification workflows
Enhanced software lifecycle practices
Effective break / fix and software replacement processes
License compliance and standardization of software versions
Clear identification of software owners and standards
Vendor guidance on software standards
Improved ticketing portal efficiency

Key Responsibilities :

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement governance and issue resolution processes for Software Asset Management.

Research and evaluate emerging technology trends to inform solutions.

Architect IT services, develop solution papers, and create test plans.

Evaluate existing services and recommend improvements.

Determine hardware / software requirements for project implementations.

Support proof of concept and limited production rollouts.

Ensure quality control on production implementations and communicate operational guidelines to clients.

Assess new service and technology requests and recommend remediation actions.

Assist in developing project plans, schedules, estimates, and task / resource assignments.

Provide technical guidance, document recommendations, and ensure adherence to change management processes.

Track and report time and status of work.

Leverage AI tools to increase efficiency and enhance project outcomes.

Required Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor s degree or equivalent in a related field.

Experience :

5+ years as a business analyst translating business requirements into detailed documentation.

5+ years defining project scope and goals with stakeholders.

5+ years developing project deliverables (charters, business cases, functional specifications).

5+ years in project management roles, managing multiple projects concurrently.

4+ years implementing IT solutions in enterprise environments.

3+ years facilitating business process development and gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have :

2+ years coordinating governance or IT infrastructure projects.

4+ years leading and facilitating stakeholder meetings.

5+ years leading change management and communication planning.

4+ years working in an enterprise architecture environment.

Experience in maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
