As a registered nurse, you will become an integral member of the interprofessional team in partnership with a patient support assistant responsible for the comprehensive care of medical patients.

Schedule
The successful candidate will work 12-hour shifts (days and nights) weekday, weekend and holidays. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Quality assurance
You will utilize your demonstrated clinical leadership skills, well-developed analytical, problem-solving, delegation and interpersonal skills to assist you in the provision of quality patient care.
You will be accountable for the development of comprehensive patient care plans and patient education plans, which reflect your ongoing assessment focusing on the patient’s goals.

Leadership
Your excellent clinical leadership skills will assist you in working with the interprofessional team in the further development of programs to enhance and support patient care.

Patient care
Using your clinical expertise, you will, in collaboration with the interprofessional team, be responsible for comprehensive assessment, care planning, patient education and discharge planning to support the continuity of care throughout the patient’s stay on Medicine Unit.
You will play a critical role in the coordination and development of interprofessional plans of care, which reflect patient needs.

Qualifications
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses. Current BCLS certification. Oncology Foundations Course Recommended or willing to complete within 1 year of hire.
Level 2 ICU Stepdown certificate or willing to complete within 1 year of hire. Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in medicine with an emphasis on oncology.
