Human Resources Advisor (French Speaker)
Location : Havre Saint Pierre, Quebec
Overview :
Our client, one of the largest mining companies in the world, is seeking a Human Resources Advisor responsible for providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of management skills by offering advice, support, and coaching on the application of labor relations policies and programs, compensation, benefits, recruitment, as well as performance and talent management.
You will work a five-day week and report directly to the Director of Human Resources, Energy and Minerals Atlantic.
Main Responsibilities :
- Provide operational leaders with accurate and reliable advice on labor relations, including case management, investigations, grievance and dispute resolution, complaints, and policy enforcement, while ensuring alignment with labor relations strategy.
- Advise on the interpretation and application of collective agreements and labor law policies.
- Offer local operational human resources services to managers and employees.
- Influence HR decisions at the operational unit level based on the HR service delivery model.
- Proactively review practices and operational performance indicators to develop strategies aimed at improving capabilities, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Manage engagement initiatives at the regional level in a spirit of collaboration.
- Support leaders and HR business partners in recurring annual activities such as salary reviews, talent assessments, and performance management.
- Participate in special projects and other initiatives (e.g., employee engagement, performance improvement, capability development, change management).
- Advise on HR policies and procedures and guide clients through various HR services.
Requirements and Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in human resources.
- Experience in industrial and unionized environments.
- Knowledge of provincial labor standards and human rights laws.
- Proven experience in industrial relations and employee relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluency in French, with a basic knowledge of English.
