Role SummaryPrimary responsibilities will be to provide implementation, maintenance and support to an IPTV service delivered to residential and commercial customers.
This position requires the following diversity of functions to be performed as needed : monitoring, supporting, designing, staging, installation, troubleshooting and resolving.
Support will entail Level 2 escalation during and outside of normal business hours. The position will require travel to customer locations and datacentre facilities.
Required Qualifications and Competencies Experience in Applied Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related fieldCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) OR other vendor equivalent, OR relevant experienceKnowledge of telecommunications fundamentalsExperience with video and video distribution, IP CCTV acceptedUnderstanding of network technologies (DNS, DHCP, TCP / IP, Firewalls, Switches) and protocols (IPv4 / IPv6, IGMP, PIM, HTTP)Ability to provide technical and operational guidance to the IP and IT teamsEthernet networking, both electrical and opticalProblem-solving under critical situationsExcellent written and oral communication in English and French Preferred Qualifications and CompetenciesKnowledge of audio and video CODECs, containers and formatsExperience with server management and OS administrationExperience with IRDs, Encoders / decoders, Transcoders, Origin servers, Packagers, Streamers, Middleware, DRM / CASKnowledge of unicast and multicast video trafficExperience with streaming of packetized video, MPEG TS, UDP multicast, SPTS / MPTSCapability to perform essential technical activities without direct supervision Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipmentPositive service-oriented attitudeAbility to be self-reliantWe Offer Competitive salary;
