POSITION SUMMARY :

The Procurement Manager will oversee the procurement department to source and secure materials for various construction projects across the organization.

They will work closely with the Project Management and Engineering team and are responsible for identifying the company's needs, researching, sourcing, and providing quotes on a wide range of materials and equipment.

This individual should have a strong electrical background, experience with procurement in the construction industry and have a foundational knowledge of various technical and non-technical materials required for the projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Re sponsible for the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Works closely with the Project Management and Engineering team to determine purchasing requirements.
  • Supports the Pre-Construction team by developing and soliciting quote on materials during the bid process.
  • Source and price various materials and equipment and provide recommendations to the construction teams on preferred supplier.
  • Responsible for negotiating vendor and supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Responsible for developing and issuing purchase orders including typical quality, scheduling, and technical requirements.
  • Expedite and report changes in delivery schedules to the project team.
  • Coordinate import / export for domestic and international shipping.
  • Build a strong rapport with vendors / suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum 5 years of full-time experience related to the responsibilities defined above
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent experience
  • Experience with procuring electrical materials.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Highly motivated and eager to develop and implement efficiencies within the procurement process.
  • Experienced with commercial term negotiations.
  • Strong communication and practical problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as an individual.
  • Demonstrated business and commercial acumen.
  • Jonas Construction Software experience considered an asset.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of Import / Export / International procedures and regulations, purchasing standards
  • Experience in dealing with logistics companies and INCOTERMS.
