Shipping Supervisor - Afternoon Shift

Role:

Reporting toDunn-rite’sShippingManager and working closely with Production, the Shipping/Receiving Supervisoris responsible foran effective and efficient shipping/ receiving and Order Picking department. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor willbe responsible forfollowing established food safety and quality procedures.

Shift: Start Time 2:30pm

Responsibilities

• Manage shipping and receiving activities (including raw materials, customer orders, all pallet usage, and product returns and all ingredients and packaging supplies) to ensure the mostaccurate,timely, efficient, and economicalutilizationof storage facilities.
• Ensure all paper is correctly documented and provided to theappropriate personnel.
• Manage the order picking activities, ensure orders are filled to customer specs, the orders areaccurate, filled as per cut off times, shorts verified with management.
• Direct andmaintainfirst in, first out rotation of product in fresh/frozen storage and ensure the freezer and storage areas meet company housekeeping standards.
• Reconcile, supervise, andparticipatein inventory counts of the cooler, freezer, and dry storage.
• Supervise Shipping, Inventory and Order Picking Staff (includes authorizing overtime and other requests).
• Provide leadership, communication, and motivation for staff.
• Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints ina timelyand respectful manner.
• Liaise with ShippingManager, Maintenance Manager, QA Manager, Production Managers and Supervisors, andmaintaineffective relationships with other departments, providing input on matters related to shipping, receiving, order picking, inventoryaccuracy and controland storage.
• Able and willing to occasionally adjust shift to provide supervision on dayshift, nightshift and weekends when needed.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of records for tracking warehousing and shipping activities for analysis and improvement.
• Monitor aged inventory and work with Materials Managerlocate/stage and flag ageing inventory.
• Manage CHEP incoming and outbound.
• Continuous improvement.
• Back up for shipping Manager.
• Train the Trainer for all in-house Power equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previoussupervisory experience in food manufacturing would be an asset.
• Strong emphasis on computer literacy,proficiencyin Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel).
• Strong mathematical and organization skills.
• Ability to use and learn Warehouse Management System.
• Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts.
• Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
• High levelof integrity and work ethic.
• Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision anddemonstrateattention to details.
• Ability to assess, work under pressure and prioritize.
• Certified on all Power equipment with the ability to coach others on their use.
• Willingness to work in a cold warehouse environment
