As a member of the team of mechanic‑technicians, you will share responsibility for performing various tasks both on job sites and in our workshop. Our pump maintenance technicians handle the assembly, operational optimization, maintenance, repair, and testing of a wide range of pumps, whether at client sites or at our Salaberry‑de‑Valleyfield workshop. They may be called to respond quickly on‑site to perform diagnostics and work on critical equipment. Additionally, they are responsible for performing regular maintenance as well as work during planned shutdowns for multiple clients, ensuring exemplary service and an optimal customer experience.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
- Repair, Installation, and Commissioning at Client Sites : Perform repair and installation of various types of pumps, including mechanical seals and laser alignment, both in the workshop and at client locations.
- Technical Interpretation : Read and interpret diagrams and schematics to define work procedures.
- Precise Installation : Install pumps according to plans using a variety of manual and electric tools.
- Diagnostics and Inspection : Inspect and diagnose pumps to detect anomalies and malfunctions.
- Maintenance and Repair : Make necessary adjustments and replace defective parts.
- Parts Fabrication : Use machine tools to manufacture custom parts.
- Equipment Maintenance : Keep machine tools in proper working condition.
- Continuous Improvement and Problem‑Solving : Provide suggestions to increase efficiency in the field and workshop. Discuss problems and solutions with stakeholders.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports.
- Workplace Safety : Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines, including the use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work Environment : Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
Education : DEP in industrial mechanics, electromechanics, or an equivalent program.Interpersonal Skills : Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.Communication : Excellent communication skills in French; English is an asset.Safety : Practical knowledge of equipment safety standards.Autonomy : Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Professionalism : Sensitivity, tact, professionalism, and strong customer service orientation.Teamwork : Ability to work well in a team.Physical Ability : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction.Availability : Willingness to learn and ability to work extended hours.Health & Safety Focus : Must be able to immediately report any accident, incident, or hazardous working condition to the HSE manager.Additional Requirements
Driver’s License : Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license without restrictions.Safety : ASP construction card (asset).Certifications : Forklift and overhead crane certification (asset).Technical Skills : Experience in vibration analysis, alignment, and dynamic balancing (asset).Previous Experience : Experience with pumps and motors, electricity, and mechanics (asset).Personal Tools : Required.SCHEDULE
Hours : 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, Monday to Friday.Overtime : Possibility of overtime.Shift : Day shift, Monday to Friday.WORK LOCATION : Valleyfield, QC, with travel to client sites
