Please note that although listed in San Francisco, this role is available across all US states.

Our Regulatory Team is at the forefront of identifying and addressing regulatory risks, implementing controls, and ensuring that our policies and procedures align with regulatory requirements.

This allows Aspire to stay ahead of evolving regulations, proactively identifying potential risks and developing comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, hence contributing to our long-term success.

About the role :

As the Senior Product Regulatory Counsel for North America, you will assist our product team with the launch of new financial and payment products as well as entry into new markets in North America.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products and services operate within the bounds of regulatory requirements by designing innovative structures and proper risk mitigation measures.

You will support closely the Head of Legal and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain product regulatory frameworks and programs specific to these offerings.

You’re familiar with the regulatory landscape and able to find creative and pragmatic solutions to the challenges faced by product, commercial, and compliance teams and help them achieve strategic and commercial objectives within the company’s risk appetite.

What will you be doing?

  • Enable company’s vision towards global fintech leader via product expansion to a new market.
  • Deeply understand and stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements on financial services, especially remittance, issuing, acquiring, and FX trading in North America.
  • Conduct risk assessments specific to North American markets (Canada, US) to identify and mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Work with compliance teams to design and implement compliance frameworks and strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of regulatory activities, audits, and investigations for the products.
  • Collaborate closely with product development and customer support teams to integrate regulatory considerations into the product development lifecycle.

We would love to get to know you if you have the following :

  • Bachelor's degree in law and qualified in the U.S.
  • Minimum 8 years of PQE and minimum of 5 years of experience in product and regulatory roles within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial service and payment regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective, efficient, and practical regulatory advice on financial service and payment laws and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to evolving regulations and industry trends.
  • Previous entrepreneurial experience is a strong bonus.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $200,000 . This salary range may cover a number of levels at Aspire and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, performance in the interview process, and final location.
