The Site Superintendent plays a vital role in coordinating and supervising construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are executed effectively, adhering to schedules, budgets, and safety regulations.
This position involves overseeing daily on-site construction activities, managing trades and labourers, and collaborating closely with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring all tasks are performed to the highest standards.
- Manage and coordinate the work of external labourers and trades, promoting efficiency and quality.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site.
- Liaise with project managers and other key stakeholders to maintain clear communication and project alignment.
- Monitor construction progress, addressing any deviations from the project timeline or specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.
- Resolve on-site challenges and conflicts, ensuring smooth operations.
- Manage resource allocation, including materials and equipment, to ensure optimal use.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction progress, resource usage, and workforce management.
- Facilitate team meetings and safety briefings, ensuring all personnel are informed and aligned with project goals.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in ICI construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of workers and tradespeople.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety regulations specific to ICI projects.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Proven track record in managing construction schedules and meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems effectively on construction sites.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and precision.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, construction safety training, or other industry-recognized qualifications are beneficial.
