With a program currently boasting over 200,000 members in several Canadian provinces, our client is currently looking to fill a paralegal position to take charge of its members' files in Ontario.

Job description

The position involves providing telephone legal advice in various areas of law, as well as representing clients in front of Ontario administrative tribunals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to clients by telephone in a variety of areas of law, in accordance with the Law Society Act;
  • Provide legal representation to clients in front of various administrative tribunals in Ontario, in accordance with the Law Society Act;
  • Draft procedures and assist clients in the legal process;
  • Develop internal tools, such as model procedures, guides and a case law registry;
  • Develop training programs to popularize legal issues that concern members of partner groups;
  • Supervise the work of collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Must be a member of the Ontario Bar for a minimum of two (2) years;
  • Have a Family Law Service Provider License, an asset;
  • Ability to manage a high volume of consultations and to organize work according to priorities;
  • Demonstrate empathy and ability to listen to clients;
  • Interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy;
  • Adapt your message to your interlocutor and arouse his or her interest;
  • Resourcefulness;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, encourage collaboration and support colleagues;
  • Inspire confidence and positively influence the team;
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.

Work conditions

  • Full-time, permanent position;
  • Salary from $60,000 to $85,000 depending on level of experience;
  • 500.00 / year for health and welfare;
  • 100.00 / month for cell phone and internet;
  • Computer equipment provided;
  • Group insurance and telemedicine;
  • Work from home.
