Job Summary
What will be your role?
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Research and Development (R&D) to lead our dynamic R&D team.
The successful candidate will drive the strategic direction of our R&D efforts, oversee the development of new BMS products and solutions, and ensure the successful execution of R&D projects.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute the company's overall R&D strategy to drive innovation and product development in the field of Building Automation Systems.
- Lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, software developers, and researchers to drive excellence and innovation in R&D activities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure alignment of R&D initiatives with business objectives and market needs.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of new BMS products, software applications, and technologies to meet customer requirements and market demands.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of R&D processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence within the R&D organization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments related to Building Automation Systems to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with industry organizations, technology vendors, and academic institutions to enhance R&D capabilities and access to resources.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in all R&D activities.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, milestones, and outcomes of R&D initiatives.
Short Description
Qualifications Required :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in R&D leadership roles within the building automation, controls, or related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing R&D teams to deliver innovative products and solutions.
- Strong technical expertise in building automation systems, controls, software development, and related technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term R&D strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align R&D activities with overall business objectives.
- Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change and uncertainty.
