Job Developer

Location : Lifemark Sunridge, Calgary AB

Department : Vocational Services

The Job Developer will be responsible for linking adult participants to work experience and employment opportunities. The Job Developer will also facilitate regular workshops on employment preparation topics and provide individualized support. A successful candidate will have experience networking to build relationships with employers and industry professionals.

Job Developer – Duties / Responsibilities

• Identifying and developing employment opportunities and directly placing participants into suitable positions in the labour market
• Ensuring sustainability in job placement; providing direct support to participants and employers to maintain employment
• Providing direct participant services including : facilitating employment preparation workshops, posting notices, managing social media accounts, developing and presenting information on professional resumes and job search skills, attending hiring fairs, coordinating and facilitating employment boot camp events
• Contacting employers (cold calling, networking, events, etc.) and developing a strong network of employer contacts
• Developing job readiness by identifying challenges, barriers and assistance they may need to gain meaningful employment
• Assessing and addressing individual needs, barriers, and complexities and developing and managing service plans
• Ensuring effective and ongoing communication with identified stakeholders, including participants, professionals, referral sources, and among a strong interdisciplinary team
• Connecting participants with appropriate community resources, including Alberta services (available through the Alberta Government), Federal Government Services, and local agencies and service providers
• Identifying and connecting with employers to identify their recruitment and hiring needs
• Timely report writing, in accordance with current templates, guides, standards and processes
• Record keeping and maintaining paper and electronic files
• Creating and maintaining a database for employer connections and networking contacts
