PCHS Calgary is excited to announce an opening for the position of Communications and Donor Relations Coordinator. This essential role will provide the tools, resources, and strategic support needed to help us reach our communication and community building goals.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in communications, sales, and marketing.

Hours : Full-time, 24 hours per week - 37.5 hours per week

Communications and Donor Relations Coordinator

Communications :

  • Develop and implement communication plans to promote PCHS Calgary's mission, programs, and services.
  • Produce high-quality content for various platforms, including newsletters, press releases, website updates, social media posts, brochures, and annual reports.
  • Ensure all content is culturally sensitive and resonates with the South Asian community.
  • Develop internal newsletters and manage communication channels; help craft compelling stories and messages that highlight the impact of donations and encourage ongoing support.
  • Facilitate effective internal communication to ensure staff and volunteers are informed and engaged with organizational updates and initiatives.

Digital Marketing :

  • Manage PCHS Calgary's social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement with followers.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize engagement and outreach.
  • Continue to manage and grow PCHS Calgary's social media presence, with a focus on LinkedIn and Instagram.

Donor Relations :

  • Assist in donor communication and stewardship efforts; Conduct prospecting through emails, cold calling and LinkedIn messages.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with corporate partners to explore sponsorship opportunities; coordinate mailouts to community relations and corporate social responsibility representatives of companies in Calgary and area ensuring adequate follow-up.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media, community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, corporations, and other funding sources;

Collaborate with program staff to gather information and develop comprehensive, accurate, and compelling grant proposals.

Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with funder guidelines.

Events :

Assist in planning and promoting PCHS Calgary events, including fundraising events, community outreach programs, and workshops;

support post-event activities, including data collection, evaluation, and thank-you correspondence to donors and sponsors.

Identify networking events that would be beneficial for the Executive Director and / or other leadership to attend.

Admin :

  • Maintain accurate records of communication activities, fundraising activities, donor interactions, and financial transactions utilizing salesforce.
  • Use insights from data to refine and improve communication strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information and the nature of the relationship with PCHS Calgary.
  • Establish clear processes and procedures, ensuring a consistent, efficient, and impactful delivery of services.
