This is a 10-month full-time faculty position starting in January 2026.

Instructor

Scope of Work : Educate students in welding technology within the Welding Department as outlined in a prescribed program curriculum and assist in departmental initiatives and / or institutional activities that advance the mission of the college.

Accountabilities :

Teaches assigned academic courses in classroom, laboratory, and / or clinic / field experience settings.
Prepares instructional materials that comply with established course content, integrate theory with applications, and promote critical thinking and life skills.
Establishes sound classroom practices, responds to diverse academic needs, and maintains accessibility and availability for student learning.
Observes all academic policies, procedures, and institutional rules and regulations.
Oversees student learning activities and academic progress, maintains accurate records, and interprets these to students.
Participates in departmental activities, supports operations by attending meetings, maintaining educational equipment, preparing requisitions, and contributing to departmental initiatives.
Engages in professional activities, serves on college or system committees, remains technologically and pedagogically current, and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in engineering or technical education.

Experience : Three (3) years of teaching experience in welding, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration, or six (6) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of the teaching assignment, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of personnel or program / project administration.

License / Certification : Must hold and maintain a current American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector’s License and be capable of passing welder certification tests typical of process, positions, base metals, and filler materials involved with the courses being taught.

Assistant Professor

Accountabilities :

Teaches assigned academic courses in classroom, laboratory, and / or clinic / field experience settings.

Develops instructional materials that integrate theory with applications, observe accreditation standards, and respond to diverse academic needs of students.

Supervises student learning activities and academic progress, maintains accurate records, and consults with and interprets these to students.

Participates in departmental activities, supports operations by assisting in the review and development of courses, maintaining contact with industry, and contributing to departmental initiatives.

Participates in research and professional activities, serves on college or system committees, remains technologically and pedagogically current, and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in engineering or technical education.

Experience : Four (4) years of teaching experience in welding, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration, or six (6) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of the teaching assignment, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of personnel or program / project administration.

Associate Professor

Accountabilities :

Teaches assigned academic courses in classroom, laboratory, and / or clinic / field experience settings.

Demonstrates teaching effectiveness through the development of instructional materials that comply with established course content, integrate theory with applications, and promote critical thinking and life skills.

Maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs and advises individuals or groups of students in academic matters.

Supervises student learning activities and academic progress, maintains accurate records, and consults with and interprets these to students.

Coordinates departmental activities and operations by developing credit and non-credit programs, sharing teaching and learning methodologies, and serving as an academic resource.

Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of college sponsored recruitment and retention activities.

Engages in professional activities related to the area of teaching specialization, remains technologically and pedagogically current, and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in engineering or technical education.

Experience : Six (6) years of teaching experience in welding, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration, or eight (8) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of the teaching assignment, two (2) years of which have been in the supervision of personnel or program / project administration.
