Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Painter to join the Plant Maintenance team at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Painter with VCH you will:

• Perform skilled painting work in the preparation of materials, equipment and surfaces, and the selection and application of paint, varnish, stain, wall coverings and/or other finishes.
• Paint and redecorate walls, woodwork, furniture and fixtures, interior and exterior surfaces in compliance with applicable codes and regulations, and performs other routine maintenance duties.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Painter and Decorator recognized by the Province of .
• Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
