Mission

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is hiring a seasonal Roller Operator for our operations.

This is a unionized position based in  Prince Rupert, BC.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate steel-wheeled, rubber-tired, vibrator, segmented or other type of roller to compact earth, subgrade, sub-base and asphalt surfaces.
• Distribute, break down, compress and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt.
• Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade and asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
• Determine speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Push hand roller and pound surfaces, using hand tamp, or guide portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller.

Compensation Data

The anticipated wage for this position is $44.35 / hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
