We are the home of ambitious, passionate, and innovative world shapers.
With an unmatched breadth and depth of engineering, advisory and science-based expertise, our global minds unite to power local solutions. We are pathfinders and impact makers.
We are Visioneers. We are WSP.
The Opportunity
Shape Something Different - This is your chance to lead transformative geological studies that define the future of mining. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to projects that matter, collaborating with brilliant minds and influencing decisions that shape communities and industries worldwide.

Join our Mining and Metals team in Vancouver as a Principal Resource Geologist. You'll lead high-impact geological modeling and mineral resource estimation studies across the full mine life cycle-from exploration and front-end studies through closure-while mentoring teams and building trusted client relationships across Canada and internationally. You'll collaborate across technical, legal, commercial, and environmental disciplines to deliver safe, resilient, and value-driven outcomes for our clients.
Your Impact
  • Lead multidisciplinary geological studies, from exploration program design and implementation to mineral resource estimation for diverse commodities and deposit types.
  • Direct geological modeling and resource estimation using advanced tools such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan, and similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with global standards.
  • Own the geology workstream for front-end studies (PEA, PFS, FS), producing technical reports that influence strategic project decisions.
  • Champion innovation by evaluating and applying new technologies, geostatistical methods, and resource estimation approaches to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Serve as a Qualified Person/Competent Person, providing authoritative oversight for mineral resource disclosure across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Mentor and develop talent, guiding junior and intermediate geologists through technical reviews and career growth opportunities.
  • Integrate globally, collaborating with WSP's Practice Area Network (PAN) to share knowledge and leverage international expertise for local solutions.
  • Drive business growth, partnering with senior leaders to implement strategic initiatives and expand WSP's mining footprint across Canada and internationally.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, embedding risk management and compliance into every aspect of project delivery.
  • Build enduring client relationships, offering trusted advice and shaping solutions that deliver long-term value.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 15+ years of post-degree experience in resource geology, with proven leadership in mineral resource estimation, geostatistical analyses, and geological modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mineral Resource/Economic Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registration in Canada, or eligibility to obtain it promptly.
  • Deep technical expertise in mineral resource estimation and geostatistical analyses, with hands-on proficiency in Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan, Supervisor, Isatis, and similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of global mining disclosure standards and reporting codes, ensuring compliance and credibility in resource reporting.
  • Ability to act as a Qualified Person/Competent Person, ensuring adherence to international best practices.
  • Direct operating site experience, bringing practical insights to geological modeling and resource estimation strategies.
  • Strategic mindset, with demonstrated success in business development and client engagement at senior levels.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, enabling clear, persuasive reporting and stakeholder alignment.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, balancing technical, financial, and operational considerations to deliver resilient outcomes.
  • Leadership excellence, fostering collaboration and empowering diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals.
