Job OpeningaLocation :Expected Start Date :Full Time :Permanent :Posting End Date :Job Description :Technician - Technician 4 (AESES)New Grant-Funded Continuing Full-Time 35.00 hours/week Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pmSalary Range: $25.75 - $36.97 per hour ($46,865.00 - $67,285.40 per annum)Proposed Start Date: July 15, 2024Trial/Probation Period: 840.00 work hours For more information, please contact:Stephanie Carter@ :- Fulfills research requirements for a funded grant to study mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. - conducts experiments to understand molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative bacteria. This will involve design and execution of experiments. Data analysis for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics experiments will also be part of the responsibility. - Manuscript writing.- Routine maintenance of lab equipment, plate readers, thermocycler, qPCR, freezers etc - Point of contact to coordinate any required maintenance with the company that provided the machine and scheduling anything required. - Organizes and manages the phenotypic and genotypic data collecting. - Maintains a user schedule, handles administrative privileges and manages data for common equipment in the lab. - General lab managerial type tasks such as tracking lab supplies, ordering reagents, and other required :MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:- Master's of Science required. EXPERIENCE:- Experience with writing manuscripts required.- Experience with NextGen sequencing, PCR, RT-PCR, Mutagenesis, CDNA cloning, DNA/RNA purification processes are essential.- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
